Anyone any info about nothing happening at all when trying to start bike. Batterys ok. Could it be oil level switch or side-stand switch. Any clues. (new member first time on)

You'd be better off posting this in the technical section or the General section.

I was giving a quick response before I had to go out for a while. Didn't have time to be as verbose as usual. Anyway, not everyone's as tetchy as you. (joking - I love you really. ;D )

Methodically go through all the easy stuff and work up to the harder/expensive bits. Battery tested & bike tried with jump leads (other engine NOT running) Solenoid clicking/not clicking Motor brushes Switches on side stand and clutch Etc

check fuses first. if the starter not turning check for click noise if the solenoid is clicking try tapping the starter with hammer (harder than you think) if the starter turns its the starter ( prob brushes). If there's no click may be battery or solenoid. Other causes sidestand switch or faulty cutoff switch.

fyi my starter was celaned out today and runs perfectly worth a go if you think its the starter (mine had got to point where even tapping with hammer wouldnt work).
