Thanks for the advice (and banter) on my recent "Fazer?" thread. 12 months after passing my Direct Access and the 900 has been brilliant for my first bike, but over the last month or so, I've been looking at the Fazer and talked myself into changing bikes this year. Well, test rode the Fazer 1000 on Friday. Didn't work for me so had a look what else was about. Took a GSX1400 out and both SWMBO and me absolutely loved it. Placed the order and take delivery next week. 53 Plate so still has the white wheels.

Well done Jb, looks like a serious bit of kit. I hope you're got bloody strong forearms. If you haven't you soon will have ;D I've tweaked you pictures a little to show your beast off a bit better. Hope you don't mind. When pictures turn out very blue it's usually a sign that the white balance on the camera is set up wrong. Either that or you've got the missus in a good mood

JB Welcome to the world of naked muscle bikes. I like the big Suzzie but went for a Yamaha XJR 1300. The fact that it was £1000 cheaper had nothing to do with it "honest guv". Like you we liked the bike straight away and have had it for four years now with no regrets. There isn't much to choose between the XJR and the GSX the performance and handling are very similar or so I've read. They make good tourers as well, we've taken the XJR to the south of France twice. Have fun ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Should be picking up next Thursday, so nice and loud around N-U-L and Werrington Boys School.
Just wish it was tomorrow, not next week.
MOTs out on the Divvy on Friday and not worth bothering with for the 6 days till I get the GSX, so last ride out yesterday. Powersports (Clay Cross), lunch in Bakewell (forgot it was market day!), afternoon tea in Matlock.
Really enjoyed it. Fast Green Divvy days may be gone but won't be forgotten!!

I am sure that the boys at Werrington College for the sons of Distressed Gentlefolk will appreciate the multi-cylinder burble through those pipes.
