After my issues with my health, its with a sad heart that I have to sell my Divvy.
Its blue but the frame has been powder coated black.
It has a brand new MOT until May 9th 2016. It has a large 48litre top box and MRA screen.(Standard screen included). It has the lower rear fender removed but the extension is included. ALL intruments work and a new tank sender is included.
New tyres, about 600 miles ago. New braided hoses. Full service on the engine, inc oil,oil filter, air filter. Fresh fork oil and new fork seals and dust covers. Brand new oil cooler.
It won,t win any prizes but looks pretty good for a 71k bike. Top end was totally rebuilt 2 years ago.I,ve only done 3k on it in a year.
I,ll try and get some pics up and I,m looking for a sensible offer. Lots of reciepts, original toolkit and owners handbook.
Anyone want to make a sensible offer,I,ll put it on ebay next week.
I,m in Nottingham close to Junc24,M1

Indeed, its a bloody shame. I took it from Notts to Hastings in March and it ran really well, despite the best efforts of "The Experts". Came home with a hole in the cooler (now replaced) but did,nt affect performance.Screen was a real boon and I tried several settings on the spoiler whilst riding.Very good if you,re under 6 foot 5 I recon. The Metzelers were perfect. 500 mile weekender.Easy If I get what I paid for it,then I,ll be happy. Its just a bit too heavy for me now tho.Might look for a really good 600.We,ll see. RALPH.

Yes that was my main bugbear, the weight, manouvering it about the garden, not so good with a heart condition ongoing. Fantastic ride though, smooth silky, it sounded great going down the road as a bystander. I wouldn't say my Sachs is really that lightweight, Standing beside my Chinee 250, that looks chunky but is light,it doesn't look any bigger, anyway perhaps the main decision advertising the Divvy was that my Aprilia Futura hadn't sold (and to be honest I'm not too upset, about that)albeit she is not far behind the Yam for weight. I got all the panelling off and gained access to the clutch bleed nipple , behind the rectifier, the darn thing wouldn't budge, without the whole plunger unit moving, so having been sent the wrong part, that is out of action temporarily and it's currently down to the Skyteam Raptor 250, that's roadworthy. Please notenice grey frame on Sachs

"Its just a bit too heavy for me now tho.Might look for a really good 600..."
Yes, you're echoing the thoughts of many on here I feel, including myself. I sold my last D9 (I've had 3) for the same reason and went onto a lighter 600 for the reasons you mention; dodgy health, that and a hefty 900 are not a smart mix. Now into my late 70's I can manage a 600/4 so long as I'm careful with the manoeuvreing.
Anything to prolong the riding, not as often or prolonged as in days of yore, but just as enjoyable.

I didn't realise we had so many colour blind members. Grey is not a colour, it's a shade Colour blind members won't be able to discern shades. Apologies to Ralphtown, we appear to have hijacked your For Sale thread, though you're getting plenty of free bumps. Might be worth putting a ball park figure in there for reference. If you don't you'll get the usual £2.50 and a packet of hob nobs offers.

Yes they can. All colours are shades to them. Me old grandad was colour blind. We didn't know this until he painted the bumpers on his light blue plastic pig brown. Seems he couldn't discern reds and browns.
We asked him how he knew traffic lights were at red. "That's simple", he replied, "the light at the top is lit up."
Ever asked a question and wished 30 seconds later you hadn't?

Ever asked a question and wished 30 seconds later you hadn't? I don't want to sound like someone else, but I found this on the web. Colorblindness is an inability to perceive certain shades of colors. The vast majority of people affected by colorblindness just confuse similar shades (greens and yellows, blues and purples, reds and greens, etc). Monochromacy is the only version that perceives colors in grayscale. Apparently there are different types of colour blindness, who knew.

Well, its been on ebay since May 11th and has loads of watchers but so far only one guy making an offer (he must be joking, after the money I,ve thrown at it) and one guy offered some cash and a Lexmoto 125.
So,I,ll tell you what. I,ll swap it for "something" smaller. Does,nt have to be a Yamaha. Just so long as its between 500/650 cc. A NVT Honda might do the job or a trail bike.250/500.
Lets see what you got.

I have bought and sold a few of these, however, there could be reasons why your bike hasn't sold yet. There might be a few issues with your advert. You state reg date is 01/08/93, so that would make it an L reg, not M. The colour scheme and decals are from a later model, so some people might be suspicious. The mileage is 71k so I would say that £900 is probably on the high side.
Good luck

I agree with Cam777 I looked at the advert and thought something isn't quite right there. It was probably dropped and had the fairing changed. Powder coating the frame in the wrong colour then rebuilding will put some people off. it's obviously been stripped to bare frame at some point and rebuilt with bits. 71,000 might not be terminal for a divvy but for anyone who knows them the colour and decals are wrong, For someone who doesn't know them 71,000 miles might seem like astronomical mileage for a bike. I'm not in the market for a divvy or I'd still consider it but there'd be a lot of teeth sucking going on. You never get back the money you spend on your bike, buyers expect it to be maintained.

Well,I did,nt take as much care on the ad as I might have. I have a history file seriously thick. It is maintained and has been certainly in my ownership. The guy that sold it to me,his name is Kevin,is an old guy and seemed really genuine. He was rebuilding a 600 when I bought this one and I,m sure he,d welcome a call to talk about the bike. I,ve left all servicing to pros. The first lot of "experts" did,nt do half the jobs I paid them for and I can,t for the life of me remember or figure out,why I did,nt call my regular spanner monkey,Alan. He took the bike away and sorted all the jobs. The bike has had over £600 spent recently plus new Metzelers. I,m open to a sensible offer.I don,t really need 2 big bikes in the garage,so I does need to go. I,d be happy to do a swap or some kind of P/X for something smaller. I,ll keep it if it does,nt sell.I,ll just have to get in the gym to build up my stremgth!! Its a good condition used bike.In fact, watch this space if it does,nt sell coz I,ll get my old chums in B/Ham,Leightons,to recover and reupholster the seat to a more forgiving foam.Might even use it for another run down to Hastings and who knows, run it down to Dover and spend a week in France Its that good. I understand the suspicions but it is a good little (big) bike. Anyone want to offer me something in P/X or a sensible amount of cash? I,m open to offers. RALPH.

I'm beginning to feel my age now as to recently having a lower denture fitted.
When I sold my 900, the person who came to look, with her partner, mentioned the high mileage, as had a prior person viewing her,77,000. having suggested they were also interested in a smaller bike, advertised for 400 pounds ,with a year's ticket, looking at my array of bikes the lady said you would buy that, wouldn't you as if to say no contest. Well my answer was no,I am trying to reduce numbers hence this one being for sale. Says he wid a high bid on an Aprilia 1000 Mille. When I asked what she would give me for the 900, she said in this condition £600. Ok the fairing had a couple of cracks not brilliantly epoxy resin need, admitedly by me, but the down pipe four into twos were like new, the tyres too, the engine smooth as a Gravy sandwhich, (a good snack for those of us with some false gnashers)
When Wezmoto sent the wrong type braided lines(now 2 of the 3 red ones on my 650 Sachs)I forked out another £18 on Fleabay, because I took a chance on some second hand linked ones(new ones the previous owner reckoned he might have and other bits and bobs he was gonna drop over, unsurprisingly, never transpired) so the replacement lines arrived and after fitting them, bleeding them, and freeing off the rear caliper, (a bleed was all that was needed outback)they worked a treat and I had a couple of rides giving the bike the beans, and the brakes came on nice and progressively. I was also a bit taken a back by the acceleration which wasn't a million miles behind my VTwin Ape. Probably also more economical though and my so far only personal experience of a parallel four and shaft drive too.
I explained all that about the brakes, to the nice woman, but when she still wanted to go away and think it over and although I had tried for 700 and was by then down to 650, in the light of the fact it only had a couple of months MOT left, I agreed the £600, hoping to close the deal.
She still wanted to think it over, so I carried on trying to get my shed back in order having the arrive earlier than agreed,so managed to squeeze the Tiddler in as well as the unsold C90, and Ape 125, beforehand, carried on trying to put other stuff into a Rardis like shed.
But was resigning myself to keeping the Divvy, and honestly not really that bothered. Maybe the Fut would go back online instead. I thought I could hear the door bell, my hearing and eyesight not bad for an old Fart, and sure enough it was, and was the lady waiving 600 pounds she had managed to per loin from a cash machine, so that was that.
To be honest I have had no feelings of regret, hauling it around the garden, and dropping it due to the grabbing on brakes and fluid on the tyre which also nearly had me off, bringing it home in January, before the brakes were refurbed. when it fell over inevitably it caught my dodgy from an accident 4 decades back, leg and ankle and then nearly caused another coronary trying to get it back up off the crash bar. after my bypass I nearly creased myself in a similar scenario with back then my newly Aquidneck Sachs, dropping that on its side, totally my fault on that occassion, but after the Divvy and Ape it is almost featherlight, as I had it over on its side to get the rear wheel shaft back in.
The slight rattle however on the Divvy, had dissapeared as witness the screwdriver(Philips or cross head)that got dropped , and resisted all magnetic thingies dangling therein,to retrieve it,had found its way out of the fairing and was on the grass.oh well every cloud and all that...I don't regret buying it and it was spot on when it went to a new custodian.there was a degree of sattisfaction in that.
Hope you have a rewarding result

Good story mate. Well,if I can,t get the money,I can,t get the money. I,m still up for a swap or P/X for something smaller and fancy a naked Divvy 600 or a NTV Honda 600/650. There is one in West Midlands with over 70k on but it looks well cared for and is LESS than £600,so someone could go take a look and take lots of pics.If I like,I,ll take. But if anyone wants to make an offer and its not taking the mick, then come and get it for Sunday. But I,ll not smile as it goes down the road as my bike is spot on.No work required. I,ve forked out for all the jobs.Just buy it,insure it,tax it and enjoy the summer. It starts on Tuesday RALPH.
