I will be travelling up Saturday, hopefully in time for the Saturday bimble. Will be coming up with someone not on the sign-up sheet. I'm not sure if that's because he hasn't said he's coming or whether it's because the signup isn't up to date .

I don't think it will make that much difference though!

The Globe has just been refurbished, we will probably move on from the Globe later but it's the only one I could see that was pretty dead, the beer seems a reasonable price as well!

We want to make the Saturday Bimble. I gather others are heading up a bit later. Are you hoping to make the bimble? If so, we could probably meet up along the way.

Hi martin, I am planning on getting up for the Saturday bimble. I'm probably going to stop off for mellors oatcakes for refreshments. Then have a steady ride up traffic depending.

Bike is back together after a failed attempt last night that left me having to nurse her home this morning and making me VERY late for work. One fuel pipe unkinked later, all seems to be running ok.

There's plenty do bar meals, though I never get out to try them, There's the usual Chinese, pizza and chip shops, A good Indian Depends what you want, You could get a takeaway and come up to my house to eat, you would be more than welcome! I don't even know what we are having yet

Many thanks to Ian for organising what should have been a great ride around the borders (lesser side). It was of course a very muted affair following the tragic news of Rogers accident yesterday. I'm sure he was up there watching us and enjoying every sweeping bend and the tremendous views around the lake district.

Ian, thanks again for arranging this weekend. Truly stunning roads and scenery Great company as usual - sadly stunted by the terrible loss. PLEASE do it again sometime. p.s. I've never 'done' Hartside that way round - but I really liked it. The first part of the run down from the cafe was very reminiscent of our week's riding in Gran Canaria - just didn't go on for as long as the Canaries' bends - but great fun nonetheless

May I add my thanks to Ian for the weekend which under other circumstances would have been excellent. Those views were stunning and the roads were a pleasure to ride. Thanks to Andy for the tail end Charley duty.
Oh and better not forget the twins for the company on the way up and back.
Loz beat her self up last night when we got home as she meant to hold a toast to Roger but forgot.
So I raise my cup of tea and say "here is to you Roger." you will be in our thoughts.

And thanks from me Ian. Although I live fairly local to this area, 90% of these roads were new to me. And thanks to Andrew for back-marking.

Many thanks to Ian for organising the run.
Even though we were all in shock and in disbelief of the devastating news, the roads, company and weather all pulled together to make the best of an upsetting situation.
