Way off from a divvy but still a Yam ALways wanted a hardtail chop now I have one!!!!! Its is based around a 1974 XS650 Brand new hard tail frame. The seat in the pictures aint stopping like it is thats getting chopped off. Love the old skool look of it just hope i can make it look decent

I suppose Stag weekend and recovery time is another 4 days. We'll expect the updates to fit in around these days. ;D

Its not much but progress non the less. Got the engine all mounted up & inline (ish) All mounts hand made I might add no laser cutter here! They just need welding on place then its onto the seating arangement.

Just an observation.
Once you weld the mounting brackets on do you still have clearance to remove the engine if needed ? The top one in particular looks to reduce clearance considerably.

ah yes bev, the top mount is in about 4 bolt on pieces.
there looks enough room once all the gubbins is removed

Here's an observation which might bear consideration before proceeding further. It isn't immediately obvious to me how the chain will be adjusted once everything is bolted together.
The back bit looks quite solid to me.
But then I am a total mechanical numpty.
