And another If you are a run leader waiting and wondering where your run has got to do not assume the next three bikes along will be part of your run.

Hi Bev , we had some of your good northern winds here today. I went out to visit my Mum (birthday) and counted about ten trees down .18" trunks snapped in the middle and some "good ol" trees just keeled over. It was like a battlefield and the dog walk was an obstacle course ! A small deserted Citroen sat forlornly with a large tree lying across, crushing the back seats. We have two trees down in the garden and my bike is covered in sawdust from the chicken coop ! I decided that this wind is too strong for biking !!
The runs sound very much like the convoy-disciplines in the army where we watched the vehicle behind and packet commanders were patiently urged not to scream off ahead down the hillsides in their land rovers because the Bedford 4t MKs were goverened and could not even fall fast enough to catch up !
I am looking forward to joining in . I won`t wave at anything because I will be too busy concentrating !!

Oh some will scream past......sometimes to make up distance and stop for picture taking .....then they scream past again lol.....but you just go your own pace and enjoy the run....no worries about holding anyone up as the majority take their time to savour the views

Hi Alan , it sounds as if there is a lot of freedom to choose which sounds good. Thank goodness it is not "death by checklist" ! I suppose it is obvious really but given all the different characters that make up our group ther is bound to be a lot of varierty ! I recon the most important bit is that it sounds like everyone has fun and that is why we do it.

Indeed we do. As long as the run leader doesn't finish in a ditch we're pretty much sorted. Run leader doesn't milk it and leave everyone in their wake. junction markers (person behind the leader) remember to mark junctions, some notice given by leader before turning (are you listening at the back Bevy ). everyone ride their own ride. marshalls sweep up the stragglers and breakdowns. And a great day will be had by all. You missed one.... Don't all pi55 off and leave some poor unsuspecting soul wondering where everyones gone :-( Do you still get an internet connection at that junction on the A9
