150 miles. Start: Beverley Market Square 10am brief for 10.30am departure. A scenic route taking in the best of the Wolds views up to Scarborough North Bay (Peasholm Park area) for lunch. Then inland to Hackness, start of the Yorkshire Moors and the Dalby Forest Drive (£2 toll) on to Thornton le Dale, Helmsley with a tea/biscuits stop at Gilling East with www.rsme.org.uk/ On towards Castle Howard, Kirkham Abbey then to Westow, Leavening, Fridaythorpe, Wetwang and back to Beverley. 3 legs of 50 miles with a mix of A-roads, undulating B-roads and single track lanes of mostly good surfaces, the odd bit of gravel and remarkably few potholes. Those wanting to cut the run short and make an early break for home may do so at Whitwell-on-the-Hill (A64 NE of York) after 120 miles, or Fridaythorpe Petrol Station (A166 NE of York) after 130 miles. Earlier? Helmsley or the afternoon tea stop - might be worth consideration if you're coming from the west. Finish approx 5pm. All welcome, please arrive at the start with at least 60 miles of fuel in the tank - preferably full Those stopping overnight for a Monday departure home, we'll have curry at a byo restaurant and beers in Nellies afterwards. A wet recce was done today and I picked up a rear puncture as an added bonus. Fortunately it was in the old tyre that I was eeking the last of the miles out of before changing it tomorrow. Hopefully you'll enjoy the route - scenery laden as ever, with about 1/2 of it new to those who've previously done an East Yorks run. Details in the OP.

They do away with charging bikes to get into Yorkyshire then charge you for using a drive, bliddy Yorkies, they'll be charging extra for Yorky air next.
