Hi all, my 600n year 2000 has an extremely noisy fuel pump which doesnt go away even on tickover. should pump noise stop once the bike is running ?. It sounds like a repetitive banging 3 or 4 times a second. The bike runs and drives fine with loads power throughout the rev range. Any one any ideas what it might be, I have been looking on ebay and they seem to sell petrol points repair kit switches..could this be my problem?? any advice welcome. many thanks

Nice introductory post , a bit about you would be nice. You certain it isn't clutch rattle, does it lessen when you pull the clutch in?

Unplug the fuel pump connector. The engine wont suddenly stop and chances are the noise wont go away either.
