Hello everyone I am a new member here in the forum. I am part of an Formula SAE team, at my uni'. You can check us out at: www.bgracing.com. We use an XJ6 2009 engine on our racing car. Does anyone happen to know the Connecting Rod length (center-to-center)? I need this data for a coputerized model of the engine. Thanks Amit

Interesting project. You have come to the right place here for that stuff Amit. No doubt our Admin lads will be along shortly with the measurement. Oh, and welcome to the YDC.

Welcome Amit,
Shouldn't the approach be made to Yamaha.
It is their IP.

Short of nicking Clive's bike & dismantling it, I don't see how we'd know. I reckon Mr Yamaha would assist, sounds like useful PR for them .

Wont it depend on what part of the 4 stroke cycle the piston is in Neil

Variable con-rod length! There's a thought!

Just another thought.
If you're going to CAD model the engine won't you need more than the con rod centres ?
If you have an engine in bits it would be simple to measure it.
