I gave my D9 a jolly good clean. All except the LHS silencer, 'cos I got bored & anyway it was tea time .

Treated the old girl to new rear brake pads & checked the puncture repair I made on last weekend's run . New? ? I know - it's true . Only the best too - posh Ferodo ones ! ..... also re-routed front lines as they were fitted by some dodgy sort in Peterborough & were rubbing the fork legs. Even my tame MOT bloke would have tutted a bit at that .

We had a bit of a poke around to fix an issue where the right hand silencer was clonking against the bike when going over bumps with a pillion.... at first I thought it was just me (I’m clearly not supermodel waif material) but then the same happened with a different pillion who is much less voluptuous!!
I felt much better that it wasn’t me causing the knocking, Charlie was a little more annoyed that there was an issue!! Anyhow we seem to have fixed the issue so we went for our first proper ride on the bike together since we got it last weekend. It’s been about 3 or 4 years since I last played pillion and whilst I’m quite happy pootling / zooming about, any particular *ahem* higher speeds did make me think my head was going to come off!!!
I’m hoping the ones of you who are doing the Newark to Beverley run will go easy on us newbies!!

I’m hoping the ones of you who are doing the Newark to Beverley run will go easy on us newbies!! Don't worry, I'm one of the rear markers You do the run at the pace you want to - that's the great thing about our runs - there's no need to be outside your comfort zone. We've had 125 riders on L-plates come along - so you'll have no issues. Glad you've got the problem sorted.

Began fitting a N top yoke to me D6 lash-up rat-bike. Finally sourced on Ebay, this allows fitting of the N clocks assembly (which i bought yonks ago) and i can finally convert to proper (almost) N spec.

Circulated the oil in preparation for a 3000k+ ride to Queensland and back. Two weeks in total with a bit of fishing, drinking, eating and general licentiousness thrown in.
Will give the full treatment, oil/filter change, washing, polishing, oiling, over the next week to curry some favour to enhance the journey.

Got up early this morning & replaced the dodgy fairing well nut which caused vibes at low revs . You got lucky. I had to strip my fairing to stop it rubbing and even then it needed gaffa tape pads in various places.

New screen today, old one was cracked and had nasty blue bolts which didn’t match anything!! As for the bunnies, Oscar now matches Charlie's car, she also has a rabbit badge and is called Jessica. There are stories behind all of these names but don’t worry I’m not going to bore you with them!!
