600s & Kappa K960 Panniers

Hi,

Just purchased a set of Kappa K960 Panniers for my 2000 XJ600S. Unfortunately, they came with no fitting instructions. im pretty sure all the bits and pieces are there, but would be grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of a fitting guide - or maybe even a phot or two of a similar arrangement

Have you got the Wingrack that they mount on?
Here's a fitting vid for that, onto a XJ600s. Not the best, I reckon, but he gets the job done:

Hi! That appears to be the one. Looks slightly different to mine, but I think that its told me what I need to know. At least I know now its not the 5 minute job I naievely anticipated!

If the wing rack wont line up, check the pillion footrest lugs on the bike frame are 100% straight. If either have been knocked out of line you will never get the wing rack aligned.

Edit:
Maybe that was the 900 but the wingrack is really rigid so the bike mounting points have to be as the factory intended.

Also check that you have the correct kit for your year of XJ600 - there are different kits for 1996-on and upto-1995. The differences are subtle but critical.

Don't be misled by the fact that Givi kept the same diagram - as I said, the changes are subtle.
