Hi I've just passed my test on a 125 and need to restrict my new 600 Divvy to 33bhp, anyone have any advice on the best kit to use? Have found one on Ebay for £46 which looks good but any advice or tips are great fully accepted

the one on ebay is perfect, i have that very kit in my d6, i fitted the kit my self and had the form stamped by a mate that owns a bike shop (although i didnt need to) i was riding it for 2 weeks at full power as the insurence didnt want to see the restriction cert, main differnce is you loose the powerband from 7-9k revs and it'll only do 80-85mph but it gets there quicker than most cars can.
if you need any more help please just ask

Thanks Jetfire, I'm going to get one of these kits and get it fitted pronto, my father in law is a mechanic with his own garage which he's kindly offered me the use of for my work on the Divvy. (He rides a new Triumph Bonneville ) I'll drop you a line as I'll probably need your advice when it comes to the actual fitting, not really done anything mechanical myself since I fitted a new engine and gear box to my mini about 20 years ago!

You can easily make and fit your own restriction washers. They go directly onto the cylinder head - use a bit of high-temp silicone sealant between the head and the washer. I made this sketch from some I got from a member on here with a view to fitting them to my son's bike, but in the end he didn't need them and I sold them on:

Put a tag on the bottom edge to hand a bit below the rubber edge so any copper who wants to know can see that plates are fitted.

If its got philips screws you will need an impact driver to move them. If the cross-heads strip out you will be in the proverbial. Ideally replace with socket cap screws.

Kit fitted yesterday, pretty straight forward job in the end. It has made a little difference to the acceleration but still feels very responsive to me (bound to after my 125 Marauder though!).
Only ridden my Divvy twice so far since I've had it, once before the kit (only about 4 miles) and then again yesterday to the father in laws garage and back to get kit fitted, had to come straight home though as son not well so couldn't go for planned ride. Hopefully a dry morning today so that I can finally ride it for more than 10 mins :-)
