Hi if you could shed a little light on this problem I would be very grateful the oil light has not been coming on when I turn on the ignition but comes on after pushing the starter and stays on for a little while after starting any ideas were the problem could be ? cheers

According to the D9 handbook both the oil and fuel lights should light when the starter button is used, not when the ignition is initially turned on. Sounds like you have no problem. hth.

Hiya Buddy, If your bikes a D6 , I dont know if you know but the oil light is only for oil capacity and not pressure mate as I found out recently so providing you have the right amount of oil in to start with I wouldnt worry too much. Mine does exactly the same mate.
Hope this helps Rich

thanks for that , for some reason never noticed it before and assumed it was a pressure switch like my other bikes we live and learn ( with your help )

Probably a touch low on oil, as the light is an oil level light.

thanks for the reply oil level is ok so keep an eye on it Keep the level right at the top mark on the sight glass and it will make the engine run quieter. Towards or at the bottom and if the light is working right it will come on now and again in normal use. This all lead me to think the level markings on the sight glass could be a bit low!

It is an oil warning light rather than an oil gone light.
