I'm due an oil change, so I'm intending to to have a go at sorting the clutch rattle at the same time.
I watched Reapers DVD of it last night - and I have two questions:
1 - how likely / unlikely is it that the cover gasket comes off clean and reusable like in the DVD? Is there anything I can do to help it do so?
2 - Reaper mentions that the big nut is sometimes quite easy and sometimes very tight. When he sprags the outer and inner basket with a screwdriver he remarks that you can't use this method if the nut is really tight - if it is, what's the best way to do it?

I can only speak from experience - when I took my clutch cover off the gasket broke up and I bought a new one.
Blue Peter fans might be tempted to make a new one from thick paper, but CD's suggestion is best - though in terms of cost, if you aren't likely to use the Loctite again, a genuine gasket might be cheaper.

Good value, but a tube of 518 costs about the same and does for lots of jobs.
