So i managed to change my oil cooler pipes and i have no leak now. banjo bolts came off fine.
anyway the sump bolt was a bugger to remove and i stripped the sump threads.
what would you recommend. rebore the sump or replace with a 2nd hand sump with a new gasket
anyone ever removed the sump? is it just the 8alan bolts and oil sensor?

I'd probably Helicoil it unless you already have large-size taps handy to do the job

Thread sleeve it. You wont fit a new sump pan without taking the engine out. The bike will need to be laid on it's side and the drill (and tap) kept 100% square to the hole. If it's a bit off the sealing washer wont do sealing washer things.

Why would i need to take the engine out. I've had a look and the outer edge bolts are all accessible.

A thread sleeve wont fall out as its tapped into the parent metal but provides new threads on the inside for the drain plug. It can also be fitted slightly off-square as the face of the sleeve will provide the sealing surface for the copper washer.
BTW, You might get the bolts out, but the sump cant come out because the frame is too narrow and as access is poor, there is a good chance of rounding off at least one bolt head.
