No lights ? Does a D6 switch the lights off when you put the stand down ?

Get the voltmeter out & start prodding wires. Failing that a 12V bulb and some spare wire. Batteries can fall apart internally or get totally flattened if something was left switched on or the generator reg has failed to earth. A totally flat battery will probably need an Optimate to kick start it. But if its elderly, a new one is probably a better get.

The prod and pull all leads method will surley find the problem - my money is on a connection - start at the key barrel and work you way from the handle bars to connectors under the tank (take it off) to the battery ,fuses etc.... Good luck.

Yeah, the obvious place to look suspiciously at is the 30A Main Fuse and the connections to and from. But my money is on that Ignition Switch
