The adjuster nuts on my 600 Divvy (92 vintage) are 12mm. You need a bigger socket for the axle nut... don't know without going to the garage and looking at the socket itself what size it is, but I think it's about 22.
Completely off topic but quite handy as well, is that the front sprocket nut is 30mm - the same size of socket that you can use to drift front wheel bearings in.

Needing to know the spanner size is a bit like needing to know which gear you should be using for any given speed. Just use the one that fits the job - sorted.

on my '95 600 it's a 19 and a 24 to release the axle bolt and a pair of 12s to operate the adjusters
