i have 600s my first big bike and love it but i am really thinking about making it naked if i do do i need the change the clocks/speedo and get new brackets ect........ also i have the 'death rattle' is it easy to replace the pin behind the clutch casing that i have been told causes the rattle. many thanks for any replies gav.

Hello Gav
Easier to trade the bike for an unfaired one if you want the naked look.
To be honest, if I were you (and im not so I understand that this is probably not of any interest)
I would keep the faired bike. I had the naked 600 when I was new to the game and wished I had bought a faired one after a few damp cold rides.
Summary 1 keep the bike 2 if you want naked, just part ex it along with the rattle.
Al.

I think that's good advice. Undressing the S Divi is more involved than it first appears, it is not just a matter of bolting on the clocks and headlight. You also need the N top yoke and headlight bracket/stay. When you have acquired and fitted all that you will still have to chop the fairing fixing brackets from the frame and touch up the paint where it was removed. But, if you really want to do it. If you really want to do it. It is do-able, just more involved than it looks.

I did it! I bought a 7" headlight and aftermarket brackets and then added a cheap aftermarket speedo. The picture shows me half way through the job, total cost for the change was around £100.

He did, but as I class him as a friend, I just couldn't do it I'm overwhelmed, I've gone all gooey, with a lovely warm feeling all over . Mind you, it's probably just incontinence.

i think i am gunna leave it as it is. just been on a long ride out with my mate he has a bandit 600n and we swapped bikes half way there it was pretty windy and with no front screen or fairing it was a pretty rough ride if that makes sense.

You have to be pretty dedicated to ride a naked fast without any screen. I have a small fly screen on my XJ6N and it makes a huge difference
