:)Hi all, hope you all had a good run and safe journey home. It looked like a good run and was looking forward to the moors until Andy had his spill. Thanks to all who stopped to help him and for their support and especially to Debs and Gaynor for their Florence Nightingale bit. We took a steady run back to Beverley to make sure bike and rider were ok and then came back on the motorway. I don't know what it was like on the moors but the wind along the Humber and most of the way home was pretty bad. Andy is now starting to ache a bit and trawling the net and ebay for fairing and parts to sort things out so we will see how it goes. Pity we didn't have longer at the start to meet everyone properly but hope to see you all again soon.
John & Andy.

Well done Neil, cracking route for the Sunday run with some AWESOME , scenery and a great mix of roads - some fast and flowing, a lot lumpy/bumpy and technical (especially with the wind blowing*). Many, many thanks for putting up with me up for the weekend and for the hospitality shown by your family, Jane, Katey and Paul. Thanks also to Fi and Neil Mudd for the company. Saturday night was a hoot, but a little headache inducing, not sure if it was the beer or the noise of the band, I'll opt for the latter. Sorry I had to bail before Sunday night shennanagins and the Monday run but hopefully everything went well. Andy, (not so little part of Uncle Fester), I hope you and the bike are ok. Not sure if you wanted to join the 'Hedgecutters Club' but you must qualify for the quickest time into a run before becoming the latest member, what was it - all of 20 miles in? *Wind was nature induced rather than the earlier version we all suffered, see diversionclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=15675. Last but not least, thanks to all who attended the various parts of the runs, and the night jollies. I keep saying it, but I'd be hard pressed to find a friendlier/happier/willing to help bunch of guys and gals anywhere. Ps, really surprised and glad to see Al ( Brandane) there on Sunday morning, seems that some far northern members do occasionally venture south of their border

Fantastic Sunday run, Neil! Thanks for coming up with such an amazing mixture of roads bundled into the route, and some interesting technical sections ;D. Just home after 850 miles on the bike, not forgetting another 200 in the car getting to/from the rental dealer in Perth ;D. Took a few wee detours today to avoid as much motorway as possible. So been over the Yorkshire Dales (Ripon, Leyburn, then A684 to Sedbergh. Motorway to border then back roads to Moffat, A701 to Edinburgh, motorway to Perth). Top breakfast at Gilchrist the bakers in Boroughbridge . Great to see everybody again, and I hope Andy isn't feeling too many after effects of his off yesterday. Here it is; unfortunately only mine for 3 days..... Now returned to its owner, but my mind is made up and I want one!!! Mucho impressed, especially with the fuel economy. Watch this space in the next couple of months....

Well Gaynor, Andy seemed quite ok with just a few aches and pains but after I told him you and Debs were comming on the next run in nurses uniforms he went all sweaty and got the shakes, do you think it could be delayed shock setting in ??

I echo all of the sentiments above regards Andy and his spill. I believe the Yorks Run reinforced its record for the shortest distances covered on a run (post safety brief) before an off. 2009 saw a meagre 3 miles covered (2 spills) and this year, 25 miles. I hope this won't put others off next years............ Many, many thanks for the turnout for the Sunday Run, to Al, NeilMud & Tom for covering major miles, (and the others too!) to ensure that the hours and miles spent putting it together were worthwhile. Tom wins the "Major Mile Maestro" award, traditionally held by Martin in the past, for his setting off from Essex at 5am to make the 10am start in Beverley. 'Spect dude. I often feel guilty and sorry for those enduring the Sunday Run as it is such a long, technical day on the bike, but I hope that the rewards of the roads and scenery make the exhaustion and discomfort worth the effort for those attending. Making it a 3 day weekend helps I guess. Trev laid on a fantastic "ad-libbed" run from Newark, leaving me as the back marker to wonder what the route was, and if my efforts would match up at times. Sorry that you had to leave early m8, you'd have loved the prices in Nellies. ;D Thank-you for your contribution and inspiration to make it a 3 day event. Martin and Dave showed their appreciation for his leadership skills at the Newark Barge.......... Bev TMTwas a nice surprise to see Speighty and Tristan on Monday morning too.......coming all that way for a 50 mile run. Madness or what? ;D My mirrors seemed permanently filled with Busa, ZX or FJR shaped bikes Thanks too to everyone for making Paul & Kate's weekend memorable too. Trev and Roger for letting Paul pillion, and "Cuddly Dave" for adopting Kate. The papers are in the post m8 And also to those that offered to share backmarking/first aid duties. I'm knackered, and I've not had to travel to get home. I cannot thank you enough for joining us for our days/evening out. I hope you all make the trip safely and reflect well on the weekend overall. Many, many thanks........... laying on runs can be stressful at time, but when your customers are such a reliable group of fantastic, stoic individuals, where any personal shortcomings seem to be readily accepted and naturally corrected without drama - just expected banter. ;D Did I say thank-you? Neil & Jane.

What a brilliant weekend . From meeting on Saturday with Fiasco near Towcester, then Billywhizz (new bestest bunk mate) at North Kilworth then on to the barge to meet everyone else & our special friend, Trev , onwards to Beverly along great twisties & then two more great runs & two entertaining evenings, right back to the run home & the close attentions of my former-bestest-bunk-mate Fiasco & his plugger on the A5 . Thanks so much, Trev & Neil & Jane for looking after us. Thanks to all for making it such fun .

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant - this weekend represented perfectly what this club is all about. Many thanks foremost to Neil, Jane, Paul and Katie for your superb hospitality, to get home from the run yesterday to a roast dinner waiting on the table was something else, not to mention the chilli and cooked brekkies Katie was such a good pillion, I sometimes wondered if I had remembered to put her on the bike before leaving the last stop ! Good to see Jane back out on a bike this morning. The routes were all brilliant, thanks Neil, Trev, and all the back markers, Sunday's run was superb, but exhausting with some real technical stuff in the afternoon, good to have a blat with Lynne and her striple chasing, (seems a couple of our members preferred to be behind Lynne though ) This mornings run was just right, with a great lunch before heading home at a sensible time. Thanks Martin for finding us some great roads on the way home, not exactly route 1, but great fun all the same. Martin, I am glad the plug held out ok. I got home at 8pm, total 705 miles for the weekend. The evening do's were great, especially the oldy worldy pub last night, was like having a drink in a Dickens novel, and £1.59 for a pint of reasonable ale - happy days ;D Shame about Andy, John and Trev having to leave before planned, hope you all get your repairs done quickly and cheaply (Trev's was to his work plant, before anyone thinks he's been hedge busting again ) Please book me in for next year Neil Dave

First many thanks to Jane & Neil for letting me sleep in their garden, they even supplied a tent & fed & watered me for the weekend.
Neil great roads & scenery & venues for beer in the evening The White horse must have had a "bog-of" offer on their beer & discount on the price as well unbelievable prices & what a place one for the "weired pub " book
Other highlights fruit cake with cheese Sunday tea stop, it works! and the views & the roads especially on Sunday.
Great to meet lots of the northerners I have not met before, don't let anybody put them down for their unfortunate place of birth they are a great bunch & of course the run addicts who seem to turn up for any run going.
I got home about 19-30 830 miles in total thanks to Martin Dave &Wodger for the run back to Newark for a cupper I left them to make my south shortly after otherwise I might still be out there as Martin even managed to arrange a U turn on the way in to Newark.
Just posting now as I got a lift to the pub just after I got home so was able to get around the outside of a couple of pints of cider. Now have to cook Dinner.
Again many thanks to Neil & Jane for their hospitality & organisation of the weekend & everyone else for for being there and making it such fun.
Neil

It's all been mostly said above but I'll add my 2p worth.
Thanks to : Neil - for organising such brilliant riding roads, weather and even car park spaces ! Neil and Jane - for unexpected hospitality (and BTW your kids are a credit to you - and such good fun) Martin - for not making me ride his Fazer for too long and Bob - for fixing my chicken strips and dropping my average MPG below 45! (Oh yeh, and for letting me play on the KTM) Gaynor and Andy - for the company home (at least the rain washed some of the crud off!) And to everyone else - for the good company and witty banter
Hope Andy and the Fazer recover soon Hope Tom got home safe and sound
Here's to the next one - I'll definitely be putting the Yorkshire run in my diary for next year.

Got back about 4.30 from todays blast.
Most enjoyable !!!
Might seem a bit nuts to travel to to Beverley just for a 54mile run, but its a nice way to spend a Bank Holiday travelling new roads with good company !!! And somehow things have always conspired against me, so i;ve not managed to attend one of these runs at all !!
Sadly, the video camera threw a wobbly on the 1st stretch to withernsea with its amazing twisties ! :-) But captured the second half ok, albeit without any sound !!!
All in all a great day !!!

Apologies for late 'log-in'. Got home on Sunday evening to help Mike tidy up after fitting my skirting boards (yes, while I rode on the Yorkshire Run ;D) All day yesterday saw more skirting being fitted so this is me logging into the site for, oooh probably 2 years So, thanks to Neil first for a great route. Testing but scenic and thoroughly enjoyable. Great to meet up with some familair faces especially as I missed out on last year's run. Dave, always a pleasure riding with you and great fun on such a long, testing section of the route. Thanks to you, Trevor and Roger for being the capable, trustworthy hands to carry Paul and Kate through the day - fantastic to have them experience it. Oh, and I'm pleased to offer my own version of entertainment for some members of the team. I'm still smiling...until Neil mentioned the wrestling match going on in my mirrors I had no idea a certain impression had been etched on some minds In fact, had I realised sooner I would not have chopped in the SV for a naked, sit up and beg Striple. These are descriptives NOT commands, you understand... Finally, thanks to all for a great day out. Hope I can make the next one and maybe make the evening do to enjoy a beer or two or three... Have a good year everyone, enjoy the rest of the summer. XX
