Earlier this week I had to make a business trip to Irvine, Ayrshire. Normally I stay at the Park in Kilmarnock, but these days am preferring smaller, more friendly places so found The Old Loans In at Loans, near Troon.
£39.95 per night B & B , far better than a travelodge type place with good beer and a nice restaurant and great service. In fact I payed under £70 for 3 course dinner and a couple of pints, cooked breakfast & accomodation, less than I have done for just accomodation in other places of a poorer standard.
Gets my vote
