Bit late but yes, it will fit. I had the 150 on and there was still <-------------------------------> this much room to the swingarm on either side.
Not sure you are necessarily meant to run a 160 on the 4" rim though? If it steers too slow or if the tyre looks "uncomfortable" on the rim, consider a 150 at next tyre change.

I am interested to know how this tread concluded. Does anyone know?
I started a thread to understand more on how Divvy's and diversions differ and tghis is right in the centre of interest. Mine is a 1991 XJ so interested if wheels alone or swingarms need to be replaced.
I see quite a few posts where people give a lot of time and input, but at the end of the thread I am wondering what was the final outcome :-)

Thread is only relevant to 600 Divvy. If you want a wider rear wheel fit a fazer rim and 150/18 tyre on it.

Yep it seems so. And as you know I am trying really hard to understand the differences between the Divvy's and my own 1991 - hence the posts.
But at least I know now that for my own bike I can simply fit a Fazer rim without any other mods. Thanks.

But at least I know now that for my own bike I can simply fit a Fazer rim without any other mods. Thanks. This is an XJ600 from 1984-91: This is a 600 Divvy (XJ600S) from 1992-97: You will notice just by looking that the engine is tipped at a different angle. The frame is different, the forks are different, the wheels are different, the swingarm is different, the bodywork is different, the tank is different. It is all different. What you are effectively asking is this: "is my 1983 ford escort exactly the same as a 1997 ford escort?" "no." "oh, but can I do the same mods on my '83 as you can on your '97?" "probably not." "oh great, I will go and get the parts you used on your '97, and that'll be fine!" "no, it probably won't."

Thanks for pointing out the differences pictorially.
So, to recap, and to use some quotations from other posts......
this is one thats come up many times before. best way is to find an fzr600 rear wheel. must be marked 4x18", 1991-1993 i think. fits straight on to all the other divvy bits. or just run a slightly wider tyre.
If you must have a wider rear tyre, you must get a 4x18" FZR600 rear wheel from about 1990. This is the only way. The rest of the info is above. It is a straight swap, the disc will line up and you can use your existing sprocket and sprocket carrier. Either buy one or don't buy one, you now have all the information to hand.
Thread is only relevant to 600 Divvy. If you want a wider rear wheel fit a fazer rim and 150/18 tyre on it. "oh great, I will go and get the parts you used on your '97, and that'll be fine!" "no, it probably won't." .........
Although both bikes look, feel, and smell different, a fazer rim from about 1990 with a 4*18 tyre will fit mine (as well as the Divvy ;-)

Sorry for bringing this topic up again,
Can you fit a 17x5.00 - 'R-86' (From a FZR 600 '4JH' 1994 - 1996 Model)?
(If so what size tyre can be used?)
If not is the 18x4 the only option? (Apart from changing the swing arm).
Cheers

I thought a 160 was way too wide for the xj600?
