Couldn't you just have unscrewed it and looked ? Perhaps he can't remember where he ditched left it . Oh oh , I've decide to put the other fairing on that I bartered for have, (thanks Fiasco ), the old one had the mirrors mounted on the fairing and on closer inspection, after my off, it's cracking around one of 'em . Did try to measure the inserts but can't be sure . I'm debating wether these would fit or not ?; www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/574310/Bodywork/Mirrors-Yamaha/On-Two-WheelsNever liked the look of the old square OE ones.

My D9 has those square ones which give a good view behind, I would never go back to bodging some R1 fairing mounted ones again, they are next to useless.

I tried some Stadium type bar end mirrors. They have a square head that sits neatly over the hand grips or can be stuck out 1960's style. They do a great job, but the field of view is a bit narrow. A rubber sucker mount car mirror stuck on the fairing top makes a handy blind spot mirror for motorways.

Then couriered the very same Fiasco (in shock) from a shifty-torch wielding purchaser from deepest Lincs banjo country, back to his native sarf. Having foolishly given such extras away for free, he was clearly out of his comfort zone up north. The clean air must have sent him giddy.

Agreed they do give a decent view, but I always, rightly or wrongly. associated a lot of the buffeting* you got on a D9 with the air flow around the, not exactly, aerodynamic shovels that are the OE mirrors . Have you took one off yours yet and seen if they are an 8mm or 10mm thread then? *< awaits CD's compulsory post on the size and airflow of the screen >

Thanks for that £25 for one mirror !!! They're having a larf, think I'll try the ones in my earlier post. Oh, and in defence of my stockroom shortages re-nuts and bolts, it's out of season time for me to replenish (usually acquire a handfull or two from each of various farms I pass through)

You were after the size of the thread weren't you? - You didn't ask for the best price I naturally assumed someone would end up paying money in your direction to take them of their hands..... Kinda like FJR mirrors Glad to help.
