Dave's latest update: 31 May 10:14 GMT "Now on first bend for start of 250 race. Is it a wet race?" (I think he'll know the answer now lol!) "Bradley did fantastic!" How can we see if its the first bend when there is a great big obstruction in the picture!!!! ;D ;D

Dave's Latest Update: 01 Jun 20:15 GMT Been rushing a bit. Are up in the Alps at hotel on Italy side in a place called Senale. Rode along Lake Garda today, absolutely beautiful (plus topless woman by roadside a bit of a ridin hazard lol) then up into the Alps for more hairpin bends. Feeling tired and a bit dizzy from the altitude, but starting to feel better after a five course meal, some wheat beer and now some red! Tomorrow more alps then off to Germany via Austria.

Hi Everyone - I'm Home !!
Neil, thanks for passing on all the updates, and thanks to all that have texted, sorry that I haven't always had time to reply.
It has been a bike tour of a lifetime, 2608 miles over the 10 days, with over 60 hours of the wheels turning (that doesn't include stops, traffic lights etc etc)
Mugello was something I will never forget, although I would love to have seen Rossi or Lorenzo win for the atmosphere. The Italians did give Bradley a huge cheer in his victory lap. Unfortunately the day was tainted by losing my camera (I suspect I was pickpocketed), and loads of rain, but it was still un-missable, and great to see Bradders, Scott Reading and JT all doing well. The speed of those bikes blew me away !
Everyone in our group is going to send their pics to a central person to put on DVD, so hopefully I will be able to post some in the next couple of weeks.
The TDM was brilliant for the roads, and we saw more of them in Italy than any other bike (apart from scooters), unfortunately it started playing up as I left Dover, misfiring etc, but I think it was because the ignition key was not quite switched on enough, and was fine for the rest of the way. I was mixing it with all kinds of sports bikes and had no probs keeping up, except on the Autoban where it started weaving terribly at 126mph - a scary moment !
Between 14 of us the only problem was with the Buell belt, other than that not even a puncture - amazing.
Most days were 8.30am to at least 7pm (sometimes as late as 10pm) in the saddle with some big daily mileages, with very demanding schedules, but it was worth it - thank God for my Airhawk seat !
Anyway I intend to post a full report in the next couple of days when my eyes start working properly again !
Best wishes
Dave
Ps One of the highlights of my trip was putting E 19.66 worth of petrol in my tank in a German petrol station ;D

Welcome back, Dave . Sounds like you had a great time. Those daily hours in the saddle sound a bit gruelling to me though . Best you wind down gently by joining us on the Rochdale Run this weekend.

Just a couple of questions. Didn't JT get his Ar$e felt by Colin Edwards again ? Is there any significance in the cost of German petrol ? €19.66 means nothing to me. Welcome back, stop slacking and let us have the trip report.

No worries Mate, I met the guy the next day ! For anyone wondering, I spotted a UK TDM900 in the car park at the Ducati Factory in Bologna. I left a note with the TDM forum address on his seat. (I had asked Beebs to post a was it you on the TDM forum) Next day bloke comes up to me at Mugello and asks about my engine bars, turns out he has a TDM900 also. I asked if he knew about the TDM forum, he said he did now as someone left a message on his bike yesterday - small world Dave
