Looks very transformers or angry insect to me! Don't understand why tail units have gone out of fashion amongst bike designers, looks unfinished to me particularly with an ugly bit of plastic jutted out the back solely for the numberplate and why can't they make bikes with proper pillion seats? Form seems to come way over function with bikes these days...

I can't hang on to my '09' over 80mph - and I've added an aftermarket screen, so I certainly won't be able to hang on to that beast with such a tiny 'screen'.
Does the rise of the MT mean that the Fazer will be discontinued ? Seems that the whole Fazer range is now covered by (better ?) MTs

Not a fan of that crossplain engine, i prefered the previous R1 engine from 2006 on

Not my cup of tea. I don't like these modern sharp looking features all the manufacturers appear to be going to.

That's cos the younger ones wont want to talk to you Seriously though, we need to attract younger people into biking, just go along to any biking event and look at the average age

Scotland has some of the best roads in the UK, but some of the worse weather too, perhaps they realise that a new bike will turn into a pile of rust within a couple of years.

MTs Even mags like Performance Bikes, which traditionally have concentrated on normal sports bikes, have started devoting more space to "supernakeds". Not my cup of tea at all, I need a bit of weather and wind protection. But the manufacturers all seem to be at it. They obviously see a growing market, which I suspect is middle-aged guys whose backs are no longer happy on a sports bike but who like the thought of all that (unusable) power available. Remember the UK is only a small fraction of their sales - they will sell a lot more in warmer, drier places. And they won't be bought as transport, nor for carrying a passenger on tour. I suspect that, as well as never going out in the rain, most of these bikes will never get into three figures, at least for more than a few yards. Many of their owners won't have anything like the experience or the skill level of the regulars on here, so they won't be pushing the bikes anywhere near their maximum capabilities. Bearing this in mind, manufacturers probably feel they have to fit all the latest electronic rider aids. You can just imagine the lawsuits flying around in the States if they didn't. Though I think studies have shown that the more safety features you build into a product the more risks people will take..... Bring back rigid steering columns sticking straight at the driver's chest, and ban safety belts, I say! As far as the Fazers are concerned, yes, I believe they are being dropped from the range. Loved both my 6 and the 8 I'm using currently, but time marches on. I'm waiting for them to do a proper touring version of the MT-09, rather than just the adventure-style Tracer. After all, the Z1000SZ is Kawasaki's best-seller which proves there's still a decent market for touring bikes with a bit of a sporty edge. I did test ride one earlier in the year - nice bike, but a bit on the heavy side for me - hopefully a MT-09 touring derivative would be somewhat lighter.

Anyone thought that the thing isn't really aimed at the British market, But they will include it to the range anyway?

Just don't understand why they seem hellbent on making every new bike seem so impractical! Barely enough room or mounting points to get luggage on to a lot of new models nor carry a passenger comfortably let alone keep the rider comfy! I like 'naked' machines, but my own ZRX1200 looks like it was built with practicality at the top of the list compared to a lof of these stylised new bikes it is comfortable for rider and passenger and while compact compared to my Diversion has enough space for luggage. Everything has to be toy-like it seems!
