With reference to my earlier post re a loud metallic noise from the front of my D9, I have just been on the AJ Sutton site and it shows an anti rattle spring in each caliper. I have had the bike 13 years and never seen these during lots of caliper cleans and pad changes. I also don't have any on the rear caliper. Does anyone have a photograph of the front caliper anti rattle spring which I presume fits behind each pad. I do have a spring fitted in the bottom of the caliper which the pads sit on, is this it?

They clip onto the back of each pad, which isn't exactly obvious from the diagram. The shape of the anti-rattle spring isn't at all clear, either. You'd think at the prices they charge they could afford some smarter artwork!

I have a clip each side the pads slide on and a spring they both seat on but nothing between each pad and piston?

Well in the end the problem was the front wheel bearing. Took bike out just before booked in for inspection and noise persistent and much worse. Gingerely rode home wheel bearing near collapse. Removed wheel took to repairer and sorted in 1 hour. Quite and noise free ride now!
