Ask M40man, he only gets half the mileage that everyone else gets out of a tyre.
I fitted Maxxis M6029 on a Kawasaki GPz1100, they were hardly worn after 5000 miles when I sold the bike, the grip was good, wet or dry.

Thank for all the advice guys I've gone for a set of maxxis, £107.99 delivered from tyreleader. Let's hope they are good as you claim!

I couldn't get anymore than 3k out of a rear maxxis however the front was really hard wearing.
The extra slippy scrubbing in put me off in the end

At 5K my rear touring tyre was showing little signs of wear & went on to do approx 8K. Which was a bit of a surprise, to be honest. Run-in was fine too - if you want foreeeeeever running-in try a Pilot Road3. Damned thing was all over the place until over a thousand miles. Afterwards, it only ever remained 'average'. I couldn't trust it. Damned pricey, though .

Very impressed with the pilot road 3s. I got a set of part worms with about 3/4 tread remaining and they've done me about 6000 miles and have just hit the wear bars. Been excellent whatever the weather and grip straight the off in the mornings.
