Hi All, Following on from this thread, I recently fitted some Delkavic pipes and am looking to jet my bike to suit as it is a bit gutless at the moment. I have found dynojet kits for the pre-diversion xj900 (seca?) but haven't found anything available for the diversion version. Are the pre-divvy carbs the same as the diversion ones? If not does anybody have any other suggestions? Many thanks Conan

bevy fitted delkavics on his D9 and it is anything but gutless. Are you sure you need a dynojet kit ?
Carb tune and balance may be enough.

I should clarify, gutless with the baffles out!

In fairness I have been meaning to balance my carbs for a while now, I will get that sorted before splashing out any more of my hard earned. For the sake of this thread let's go with "yes, I want a dynojet kit" as I would still like to know what the options are.
Also kind of related what effect do the pipes that come up into the fairing (AIS?) have on fueling? The bike has been down the road at some point and I toyed with the idea of removing the front fairing as it has seen better days and a replacement seems hard to come by, but obviously it hides all of that pipework which I didn't want to go removing without knowing what it does!

Several members have also removed the AIS (including bevy) with no apparent ill effects.
For the record he also removes the baffles (except for MOT time) and it's still not gutless, he kept a decent pace on the way back to Blairgowrie on the JR13 Sunday run while carrying a pillion. They weren't hanging about.
I believe his next plan (not any time soon I hope) is to remove the fairing and make it look more like an XJR front end. He has a pair of Vmax forks lined up for that, though that may be reconsidered.
Not sure if XJR forks will fit the D9.

I've removed the AIS on mine and run the Delkevics without baffles all the time. Pops and farts a bit but wouldn't call my D9 gutless Edit, all the AIS system does is clean up the emissions, allegedly, for the California market. Far stricter emission laws then here, but basically it just sucks more outside air in to mix with the expelled exhaust gases. Lot of bollocks if you ask me, but there you go.

Hi have been looking at the sigma kit, did it take much playing around with the jet sizes etc that they send out or was it simply a case of going for the next available size from standard and hey presto? I'm wondering what amount of difference it would make for the £57 outlay (yes I'm a bit tight!) My bike has a Sandy's bike spares 4 into 1 exhaust with a recently fitted Lexmoto stainless silencer minus baffle, I've had a K&N filter in the airbox for a long time. I find the bike goes well enough from mid range to top end but the initial pulling away feels a bit lacking up to say around 3k, could be down to the 4:1 I suppose but am assuming that the jet kit would be able to help with this - I reckon its running a bit rich really as the plugs are towards a darker brown and the majority of the time it starts with zero choke even in the cold. Would you say fitting and playing with the jet kit was worthwhile doing?

I messed about with mine cuz it was running lean with the new exhausts. It took a few days to get it sorted and haven't looked back. uses more fuel though but for me, yes, it was worth it.

Mine was considerably quicker with Beowulf cans and only slightly less so with baffles.
I doubt the unlined down pipes made any difference but being larger bore they might have reduced the mid range. Junking the AIS made zero difference that I could tell.
