It seems the steel casing inside the plastic lamp outer case is prone to vibrating at around 2000 RPM. A simple fix using a plastic screw and a spring is shown below. This will still allow some adjustment of the lamp using the thumbscrew but is best to set once the lamp has been adjusted. Drill into the plastic case (not into the steel casing inside), push a plastic screw through a small spring and screw in until the screw is forced against the steel casing. The spring should keep the screw in place. Bits needed... Drill anywhere close to the opening where a screw will not interfere with the bulb, etc... Insert screw and compress spring...

Bit of a thread revival but...
Jesus this has been driving me nuts atm! Its soo bloody loud too! I'm sure people in the street turn around when im at 2000rpm haha!

If it's really loud the noise might be the fairing plastics.

Bit tha above mod, with a big screw and a spring to hold the light bowl, annoying rattle went away what a god-send!
