When I posted pics of my rear Diablo, which had 'cut's along the side walls, everyone just assumed I had a local enemy who was out to get me . Everyone?, there you go again

The Maxxis on the front of my 900 Divvy has very tiny cracks starting to show in a few places. This is only on the side that gets the sun all the time where it is parked (the cover doesn't go over the wheels). The tyre is over 3 years old though, plenty of tread left. I have just had a Sportmax fitted on the rear so will see how it goes. The old Maxxis it replaced didn't have any cracking that I recall.

Any update on this My tyre is currently undergoing investigation at Maxxis HQ, I have since seen another defect tyre which is also under investigation, a rear tyre this time! My guy at a peterborough bike shop that I use says he has seen many Pirelli tyres with defects too. Here is a picture of the other tyre mentioned which had only been on his bike for 1 week.

Could that not be a cut as easily as a defect? I have picked up simular from general road debris, usually when I have done a lot of filtering. It's just sods law that new tyres seem to suffer with it rather than ones which are due to be changed. However it's good to know the first set of tyres are being looked at

It looks like a cut to me but see what the tyre fitters say.

It's not a cut, it's all the way round the friggin tyre! Maxxis have given him a new tyre but do not accept any liability, they said it was done as a good will gesture. They haven't made their mind up about mine yet, probably because I told them that I have slatted their name on various forums and said that I won't be using their carp in future

The one with splits in the rain grooves is indeed all around. It cant be anything other than Maxxis fault, but no tyre maker will ever admit liability.
As said I cant complain about mine. If it was like Cam's mate's, I might not be so cuddly towards them.

Sure it says on the Maxxis site, that they will replace any tire showing defects from manufacture. looks like on to me, with only a few 100's of miles. get em back to the dealer.
