Earlier this year one of our members Dave Pascoe (Fiasco the rabbit worrier) had an accident and was airlifted to hospital by the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance trust. We would like to thank them and also to help them to continue their life saving service for the three counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. www.tvacaa.orgAir ambulance charities collectively undertake 19,000 missions annually and, whilst we appreciate the services of all the UKs air ambulance units, we are specifically trying to help the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust on this occasion. Around half the call outs are to road traffic accidents. That's a lot of help to a lot of people & we could all have to rely on them - we never know when. On average, each mission costs £1,229. The Trust is a charity which receives no funding from the government, NHS or National Lottery & it costs around £2 million pounds a year to maintain the service. Throughout 2010 we are going to undertake a number of fundraising events including collections at each of our group get togethers. We have two members who will be taking part in a sponsored motorbike ride from Lands End to John O' Groats using the A and B roads of England, Wales and Scotland a journey of just over 1200 miles. Other events are to be announced. A page on JustGiving has been set up to process all moneys collected at our events. www.justgiving.com/TVADonating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Please help us to keep this vital service going. Remember you don't have to wait until the next Run Meeting to donate. Just go on line and donate whatever you can afford. Thank you The Yamaha Diversion Club

Thanks to Ted, Contour Mac, Andy (Flymo) for your efforts in setting up the Just Giving page and for all their enthusiasm so far in getting this idea off the ground (pun inteneded ) and to everyone that has donated and come up with ideas so far. For those that weren't on the run at the weekend, we have a couple of official TVACAA collection tins and letters of authority for our members to collect in non public places. If you feel you have a place (workplace, pub etc) where you could shake the tin let us know and we will see about getting one to you. This will obviously only be open to members that we know and trust, as it could be potentially open to abuse. We also have an Air Ambulance bear, which will be doing the rounds in conjunction with the Divvy Club bear. I had a meeting at the TVACAA HQ last week with the Community Fund Rasing Manager Carl Undery and his staff. There is potential of support from them in terms of publicity, merchandise etc in the future, so if you have an idea that would benefit from their support please let Mac, Andy or myself know. For those on Facebook TVACAA also have their own group, this can easily be found with a search on there. Finally a big thank you from me for all those that have offered support to the charity, I owe TVACAA a huge debt of gratitude, as do several of our members who were happy to hand me over to them on Jan 3rd. Best wishes Dave

Great news from the auction that took part in Moffat over the weekend The auction itself raised a staggering £480 As a side event Pooh who could not attend sent in a Hawian grass skirt and coconut bra and we had a whip round to pursuade Trev (of the invisible Striple) to wear this for the rest of the auction . This raised a further £90There were also a fund raising events by Flymo and Martin who will be annoucing even more good news soon Thank you to all who donated items and bid so generously Moneys will be banked and added to our justgiving account during the week

... There were also a fund raising events by Flymo and Martin who will be announcing even more good news soon Yes indeed. Young Flymo made the sacrifice. I merely did the deed : Andy (Flymo) raised £105 for his foolish brave pledge - thanks to everyone for making it happen by digging deep . Sounvenir keyrings added another little boost - £28.45 was collected. Again, thanks to all who bought one & to Debs for helping with the selling Moneys will be banked and added to our justgiving account during the week Ditto for the above .

A young friend at work tragically lost his Mum yesterday morning after a driver that had been drinking mounted the kerb and hit her and two of her Grandchildren.
The Thames Valley Air Ambulance was scrambled and took the two Children to hospital in Oxford, where they are in serious but stable condition.
Without donations such as ours, this wouldn't have been possible, so please keep up the great work.

Have just added £30 (+ Gift Aid), thanks to Dubster (Richard) for buying a used Divvy 900 Swing Arm in my auction, many thanks Richard for your support. Belated thanks also to Teejay (Trev) for his donation of £25.00 (+ gift aid) for his purchase of a Divvy 900 screen in the same auction We are now at just over £900 (60% of target) wouldn't it be great if we could get nearer our target of £1500 in time for the presentation to them in September Thanks to everyone for their ongoing efforts Dave

Hi just signed up and saw the thread on TVACAAT. I have some involvement with the charity fundraising arm of the Trust through work as well as the Ferrari Funday which has been so royally destroyed by the men in Health & Safety suits. A superb charity to support and the work they do can never be quantified; the number of lives that would have been lost without them doesnt bear thinking about.
I am down in sussex so chances are (touch wood) I will never have to learn just how good they are. Hope you raise bucketloads of money towards towards the cause.
Adam.
